Sales Office Administrator Lucy Scholefield takes part in baking fundraiser despite a badly broken wrist.
Invicta Sales Office Administrator Lucy Scholefield has a well-deserved reputation for her delicious baking and over the years has raised hundreds of pounds for good causes both locally and nationally.
The latest organisation to have benefited from her skills and generosity is the Kirk Theatre in Pickering, the North Yorkshire market town where Invicta has its factory base.
Despite breaking her wrist in two places earlier this summer and having to undergo extensive restorative surgery, Lucy rallied to the cause and baked no less than a fruit cake, four gingerbread loaves, a chocolate cake and a coffee and walnut cake for the Theatre's fundraising cake sale earlier this month. They raised a whopping £600! This was a fantastic effort all round but especially by Lucy for really pulling out the stops.
Lucy also puts her baking skills into practice by regularly preparing the teas for Pickering Cricket Club. It is widely acknowledged that this greatly helps with match performance! Lucy has been doing this for the last 10 years – a role she took over from fellow Invicta employee Vanessa Boyes.
Invicta is an employee-owned company and many of its staff have worked there for years and are an integral part of the local community. There is also a strong team ethos and, as well as knowing the industry inside out, they all really care about what they do which extends into all parts of the business.
